Just a few years ago we began investigating the College Level Examination Program tests given by the College Boards organization to see if we could use these tests to help our children get ahead in their preparation for college. We were astounded to learn that 2,900 colleges and universities accept CLEPs!
Our daughters, Katie and Rebekah used these exams to gain a number of college credits that they transferred into college at a fraction of the price!
Additionally, they were able to "test out" of both Introductory Psychology and Introductory Sociology
So what? (You may ask.) Why would you want your homeschooler to test out of college Psychology and Sociology?
Well, we think that the general information that is covered in these courses in terms of content is rather innocuous, if you have given them a good worldview training. But the problem is the bias of the college professor and the overwhelmingly deleterious nature of the supplementary material being presented in many college courses these days!
"These are not your Grandfather's Humanities courses," homeschooling parent! Your children are in many cases being instructed in concepts that contradict not only what you have spent the past dozen and a half years teaching them in terms of content and morals, but also attempting to re-engineer their thinking regarding issues which are still open to intelligent debate in areas like homosexuality, abortion, euthanasia, free market forces, religion, ethics, and on it goes.
We know of students who have been exposed to pornography in the name of exposure to "alternative lifestyles," as required class instruction (including full screen graphics and audio). Professors have responded to requests to be dismissed from these sessions by being told the materials were "harmless."
Well, we beg to disagree. Students should not have to listen to opinions by immoral professors who lack the convictions of our children when there are better alternatives available. And the fact is that in the subjects of Introductory Psychology and Introductory Sociology, there are alternatives!
For the past year, we have been teaching Introductory Psychology across the U.S. with exceptional results!
Here are some comments by parents and examples of students have taken our Introductory Psychology CLEP Prep class:

Here's another one:
Recently, we taught the Introductory Psychology CLEP Prep to a half-dozen homeschoolers in upstate New York. One of these students was a young lady who spent about 4 weeks after our class studying the same notes that we are now offering here. She went to the testing center and was given the wrong test! That's right. The testing center accidentally gave her the CLEP exam in Educational Psychology instead of Introductory Psychology. And you guessed it. She passed it! She then turned around and took the right test and passed it easily.
A fluke? Perhaps.
However, the question is whether "lightning strikes twice in the same place." Just recently we received another email from a homeschooling mom whose daughter ALSO was given the wrong test! The same one. And yes, she too passed it, took the right Introductory Psychology CLEP and passed it too. Now we don't recommend this approach. But we think these results speak for themselves!
Another family from Pennsylvania had three children ages 11, 13, and 14. All three took our Introductory Psychology CLEP Prep class together this summer. All three of them passed the exam after studying for about a month and a half! They now have 3 college credits and won't have to take the course in college! Not bad for being under 15 years old!
