Below is a copy of what the first page of the "Grand Plan" looks like for your student's
Planner. We wrote this section to help your student to understand what is
coming in the secondary school years and how he or she can plan for it. We have
learned that if you figure out how to turn over ownership of high school to your student,
your job will be so much easier! One of the ways we help you to do that is to give your
student(s) a vision of high school, with practical information that will help them
to see it clearly.
In the Old Testament, there is a very interesting verse that says this:
Record the vision
And write it on tablets,
That the one who reads it may run.
For the vision is yet for the appointed time;
It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
For it will certainly come, it will not delay.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NASB)
We can tell you by our own personal experience, which has been validated again and
again by other homeschooling parents, that by giving your secondary students a
Grand Plan--a vision of their high school years--"though it tarries, . . . it will
certainly come, it will not delay." This section of the Planner will help you to
state the vision clearly and thoroughly for your child.
